Have you ever made a mistake? I mean a really, really Big mistake and then because of that mistake you found yourself in a dark place with no family or friends or any of things that gave you comfort and security. You have to make your way, but all the guideposts have changed. All the rules have changed and you don't know who or what you are anymore. Imagine that while you are thinking of how to best survive in this dark, dark, lonely place, there comes a ray of hope. It is a letter from Broadway Prison Ministries asking you to take a correspondence course that will help you to learn more about a man called Jesus. It is your first contact with the outside world and it is telling you that someone cares about your life. You decide to fill out the form and sent it back. You don't really think that it will matter, but you find yourself anxiously waiting for the reply. Just as you are telling yourself that it will never come, it arrives and as you open the envelope, out falls an encouragement card with words that touch your soul. It seems as though God is talking directly to you. You take out your lessons and there are a few words from your grader telling you that you have done well and most important of all, that you matter to them. As you fill out the next lesson and send it back, you realize that there may be a different way to survive this place and that you are not so alone. Broadway Prison Ministries touches the lives of so many people and reaches farther than you can imagine. It blesses the lives of the Students and the Graders as well. Please pray that God will bless many more lives in this next year. Contact Joe Burks at 438-7005 or Dixie McWilliams at 763-0464.
